Why are we celebrating Christmas? For what reason are we celebrating Christmas?
From young, I always thought Christmas is about Santa , turkey, gift and for the Christian.
I was invited to celebrate my first Christmas at Chong Jin's home in year 1987. I stayed overnight at his home, I loved the celebration very much but I still didn't undestand the reason of the celebration
It was during my second year in the university, I was invited by my coursemate to her church, we sang some song, exchanged gifts, from there, I heard the message that Christmas is not about Santa or turkey but is about Jesus, however, the impression is still not strong enough in my mind.
I only knew the truth about Christmas when I became a Christian. Bible mentioned that Jesus born for us, HE came in the fresh to cleanse our sin, we are the reason for HIS birth, HE sacrificed for us, HE died for us, HE loves and saves our soul from going to the hell. We are celebrating Christmas to remember HIS birth and loves for us. We are the reason for HIS birth.
I love the song: " we are the reason". I was involved in the handmind presentation during the Christmas celeberation in my church last week based on the song.
